Community Day events in Pokemon Go are always a delight, and almost every Community Day features a Pokemon that every Trainer needs.
Since it happens monthly during those few hours the featured Pokemon appears in the wild more frequently, and the Community Day in May will bring Alolan Geodude. The event will happen on May 21st, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. local time.
During the Community Day in May, Trainers that evolve Alolan Graveler into Alolan Golem will get a Pokemon with the special Fast Attack named Rollout. This attack has 4 power in Trainer Battles, while in Gyms and Raids it will have 14 power. A new Special Research story will be available along with Alolan Geodude named A Rocky Road for $1.00.
Now that tickets are mentioned, Niantic will be implementing a new feature with which Trainers can give one (at the moment of writing it is valid only for May Community Day’s Special Research) to a friend. There will be a button added when you open the Special Research ticket that indicates gifting instead of buying (you would still need to pay $1.00 if you decide to give it to a friend).
As with every event, there will be several bonuses, and this Community Day event will feature the following event bonuses:
3x Stardust for catching Pokemon
2x Candy for catching Pokemon
2x chance to receive Geodude XL Candy from catching Alolan Geodude
Incense activated during the event will last for three hours
Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours
Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise
One additional special trade can be made during the event and up to two hours afterwards for a maximum of two for the day
Trades made during the event and up to two hours afterwards will require 50% less Stardust
A lot of bonuses, right? There is one additional bonus, but instead of an individual one, this one is a group bonus. If enough Pokemon are caught with help from a single Lure Module, the 3X Catch Stardust bonus will become 4x for 30 minutes for Trainers near the Lured PokeStop.
If you thought that this is the end, there are two last things that we want to inform you about the Alolan Geodude Community Day in May, and those things are the event bundles and stickers. There will be event-themed stickers available in Pokemon Go from spinning PokeStops, Gifts and the in-game shop and a one-time-purchase Community Day Box will be obtainable for 975 PokeCoins with one Super Incubator, one Lucky Egg, one Elite Fast TM and one Star Piece. The other event bundle will be free with 30 Ultra Balls.
