Pokemon Go Salandit Hatch Rate is Very Low, 12.5% Chance for Female Salandit

Trainers, Niantic and Pokemon Go announced that Salandit will be available to hatch from 12km Eggs. The Pokemon Go community was very excited to hatch Salandit from 12km Eggs, but it seems like the hatch rate for Salandit is very low.

Salandit and Salazzle make their debuts in Pokemon Go, and starting with the All-Hands Rocket Retreat event, Salandit will be available to hatch from 12 km Eggs. Now, only female Salandit can evolve into Salazzle. Also, you’ll need 50 Salandit Candy to evolve female Salandit into Salazzle.

Many players got excited to hatch Salandit and Salazzle, but it seems like Salandit is locked behind 12km Eggs. According to reports, the chances to hatch Salandit from 12km Eggs are 9%, plus a 12.5% chance to get female Salandit or around 1.1% overall. Salandit needs to be female to evolve, which means that only 1/8 Salandit you hatch can evolve into Salazzle. That said, Salandit and Salazzle are Egg locked, and almost impossible to get.

What are your thoughts about the hatch rates? Will you hatch hundreds of 12km Eggs just to get Salandit and Salazzle? We would like to hear your opinion, so please leave a comment below.

  1. I just don’t care about any event related to GO Rocket.
I’ll just wait until they release Salandit on a Timed Research or in the wild. Which they will do eventually, since they are clearly almost running out of content with Gen 8 already in the next waiting list.

  2. I feel like extremely low rates for Pokémon locked into 12 km eggs is just a money grab. It’s unfair to kids and everyone living on limited incomes. Gas & the cost of goods is through the roof right now. Niantic is making millions! They don’t need to do this!!

  3. Yeah grinding out 14 eggs and having to get them to 12km each and THEN having a dismal spawn rate after that is just the nastiest grind. We all see what you’re up to Niantic. Don’t push your customer base too far…there is a tipping point where people will just quit and delete. I’ve played for 3 years now and over the past 6 months I’ve noticed greed starting to seep deeper and deeper into the game.

    1. Wholeheartedly agree on the greed and Salandit is a prime example. Those with the discretionary income are likely buying rocket radars and incubators to speed the process up. Trying to catch a shiny Lapras in the 3-star raids with that dismal appearance rate is another example of their greed.

  4. Just this year I keep all my eggs 12k. I will hatch one, than not do a team leader until it hatched. I have done over a few hundred just this year and have not yet get Salandit. It is the only thing in a 12k I need as I have all the rest and the shinnys that are given.
