Escape From Tarkov: Streets Of Tarkov Might Release Before Autumn

Another surprise revealed by BSGs COO, Nikita Buyanov.

Escape From Tarkov, one of the most realistic first-person shooter games developed by Battlestate Games, is due to getting Streets of Tarkov, as it was announced long ago. The upcoming Streets of Tarkov map is expected to be the largest in the game and surpass the proportions of the military base (Reserve). Even if its release date hasn’t been stated publicly, on Thursday, BSG’s COO Nikita indicated a release period.

In a recent tweet, Nikita said: “The most asked question – when is the Streets of Tarkov coming out? It’s being done. We hope to see first iteration before autumn.”

In a calendar year, autumn arrives on September 22, which means the developer’s goal is to release it before then. This doesn’t rule out any previous months, but should BSG decide, it could delay the wipe until September 22. The tweet and statement regarding the release time span can be found below:

The first iteration of Streets of Tarkov might represent a smaller portion of the map, with the developer having time to focus on further polishing if necessary. Once everything settles, and the performance meets the developer goal, we could get a bigger portion of the map afterward. But, that’s not the main concern for the hardcore players. Instead, it’s the entertainment they’re having now vs. the entertainment they have during a fresh wipe.

Where does this take us? At first, this statement has interfered with all the recent Rumors regarding an upcoming wipe. As unpredictable as Battlestate Games is, is hard to guess when the next wipe will be, but after seeing this we could be stagnating until the end of the summer or early autumn before we see the arrival of the Streets of Tarkov. To prolong the current wipe cycle, in this case, Battlestate Games could try to iron out the economy with events such as the trader captivity, where players were asked to pay the ransom for their rescue.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
