Pokemon Go Mega Pokemon List, All Available Mega Evolutions

Trainers, Mega Evolved Pokemon are a big thing in Pokemon Go, and many players want to know how many Mega Evolved Pokemon are released in the game. There are a total of forty-eight Pokemon species capable of Mega Evolution, and twenty-one Mega Evolutions are currently available in the game. The next, twenty-second Mega Evolution might be Mega Scizor and is expected to be released sometime in June 2022.

Mega Evolution gives the Pokemon immense strengths in battles, which makes the Pokemon a great asset for a Pokemon team, and it can sometimes change types. In the mobile game, you must use a Mega Energy to Mega Evolve a Pokemon. After Mega Evolving a Pokemon, the effect and benefits from it last only eight hours, and after those hours, the Pokemon goes back to its original form. But the good thing is that some events provide a boosted duration of the effects Mega Evolution brings.

The new type of evolution came in Pokemon Go a few years ago, or in 2020 to be exact. Since then it has gone under multiple updates and tweaks, and today the Mega Evolution is free after the first use of the mechanics. Though you still need Mega Energy for the first evolution.

Mega Energy is the “juice” that a Pokemon needs to go to the next level and take it as a personalized item just like Candies. Every Pokemon though requires a different amount of Mega Energy, so the initial numbers might be high, but after that, the amount for it gets significantly reduced.

The amount depends on the species, but as mentioned, after the first use, the cost is non-existent. You can use the remainings of Mega Energy if you want to speed up the cooldown.
