Pokemon Go August 2022 Events Announced

Trainers, August 2022 is right around the corner, and Niantic and Pokemon Go revealed everything that will be happening this month.

Here is the official announcement, thanks to the Pokemon Go blog:

Pokemon GO Fest: Sapporo – From Friday, August 5, 2022, to Sunday, August 7, 2022, Pokemon GO Fest comes to Sapporo, Japan! Explore the city and Nakajima Park – tickets are on sale now.

Pokemon GO Fest 2022: Finale – Stay tuned for more details on the global finale event taking place on August 27.

August Community Day

Join us for August Community Day on Saturday, August 13, 2022! Galarian Zigzagoon, the Tiny Raccoon Pokemon, will appear in the wild!

Bug Out!: Creepy and crawly? Or cute and cuddly? Decide for yourself when this event featuring Bug-type Pokemon returns from Wednesday, August 10, 2022, to Tuesday, August 16, 2022.

2022 Pokemon World Championships event: The 2022 Pokemon World Championships will feature Pokemon GO for the very first time, and we’re holding an in-game celebration from Thursday, August 18, 2022, to Tuesday, August 23, 2022! Keep an eye out for more details.

The Legendary Pokemon Palkia, Zacian, and Zamazenta and the Mythical Pokemon Genesect will return to five-star raids this August!

Pokemon Spotlight Hours

In the month of August, Pokemon Spotlight Hour will take place every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, and each will spotlight a different Pokemon and a special bonus!

  • August 2: Hisuian Voltorb | 2× Stardust for catching Pokemon
  • August 9: Nidoran♀ | 2× XP for catching Pokemon
  • August 16: Joltik | 2× Candy for catching Pokemon
  • August 23: Nidoran♂ | 2× Candy for transferring Pokemon
  • August 30: Pidove | 2× XP for evolving Pokemon

Language selection will be rolling out this month!

Soon, Trainers will be able to change their language settings in Pokemon GO! Trainers will be able to play Pokemon GO in their language of choice, regardless of the language used on their device. The following languages will be available when this setting launches.

  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Portuguese (Brazilian)
  • Russian
  • Spanish
  • Thai
  • Turkish
  • Traditional Chinese

Trainers will need to close and reopen Pokemon GO for any language changes to take effect.
