Pokemon Go Most Players Don’t Use AR+, They Use AR for Fast Shiny Check

Trainers, according to a recent poll on the official TSR Reddit, most players don’t use AR+, while some say they use AR mode only for faster shiny checking.

Pokemon Go’s AR+ mode was introduced back in 2017 and can be used by both iOS and Android users. AR+ mode is an enhanced version of Pokemon Go’s AR feature in which Pokemon appear anchored to your real-world environment right in front of you. There are two AR modes in the game, the AR and the AR+ mode. Now, what’s the difference between the two?

AR+ mode displays Pokemon fixed to a point in your real-world surroundings. Pokemon appear on the ground in front of you. You can walk toward or around the Pokemon. Pokemon have awareness of how close you are and how fast you are moving toward them.

In AR mode, Pokemon are not fixed and do not have awareness of how close you are and how fast are you moving.

According to a recent poll, now deleted, most players don’t use AR+ mode, and as stated above, some are only using it for faster shiny checking.

Yes, that’s right, you can shiny check faster in Pokemon Go using AR mode, and here is how.

How to Shiny Check Faster in Pokemon Go?

  • Go to Settings
  • Make sure Niantic AR is disabled
  • Select any Pokemon and in the top right (encounter screen) select/turn on AR mode
  • On the left side of the screen select the run button

Do you use any of the above-mentioned modes, AR or AR+? We would like to hear from you, so please leave a comment below.
