Roughly two years ago, a feature that was bound to bring reality and virtual space closer was released in Pokemon Go.
Just like in the real world, the most popular game Pokemon Go also has its seasons, which coincidentally (or not) change at the same time the real world seasons change. Every Season in Pokemon Go stays for three months, and has its own “theme” just like spring, summer, autumn and winter have in real life.
The feature was first introduced in the game back in December 2020, when everyone was basically scared to leave their homes, so Niantic decided to bring the real world closer to its players and look somewhat normal. During every Season in Pokemon Go, there are numerous changes, which include different spawns, different map looks, events that match the ongoing Season, and more.
The most important changes, or bonuses depending on how you look at it, happen in Raids and Pokemon Spawns. Each Season, there are unique spawns and hatches in the Northern Hemisphere, as well as in the Southern Hemisphere. Plus, there are Mega Raids rotations, meaning that players will always get new Mega Raids or new Mega Pokemon.
To remind ourselves, we have decided to make a list of every Season that has happened so far in Pokemon Go:

- Season of Celebration – December 1st, 2020 until February 28th, 2021
- Season of Legends – March 1st, 2021 until June 1st, 2021
- Season of Discovery – June 1st, 2021, until September 1st, 2021
- Season of Mischief – September 1st, 2021, until December 1st, 2021
- Season of Heritage – December 1st, 2021, until March 1st, 2022
- Season of Alola – March 1st, 2022, until June 1st, 2022
- Season of GO – June 1st, 2022 until September 1st, 2022
Now, we know that everyone wonders when will the new Season begins in Pokemon Go, and we are glad to report that we finally have the date, and that is September 1st, 2022. The end. That is all we know.
And since it is in human nature, we can not help but think, what is the next Season of Pokemon Go going to look like? Our best guess is a Halloween theme “Spooky Season” since we all know how much Niantic loves this holiday. Also, what about a Season of Mystery, solving the wormhole problem, and Halloween tie-in as mentioned by Kadem2 on Reddit?
