Battlestate Games is working on “Streets of Tarkov” quite intensively

Battlestate Games, the developer behind Escape From Tarkov, has revealed that it’s intensively working on the new Streets of Tarkov map. The news arrives from the official interview with BSG’s COO, Nikita, where he explicitly states that the Streets of Tarkov and Arena are the company’s priority. Streets of Tarkov has been in development for a long time, and this statement somewhat alludes to a potential Streets of Tarkov release with the next wipe.

As usual, Streets of Tarkov isn’t planned to be just another map to course through in Escape From Tarkov. Instead, the map will introduce new storyline quests that will take players on a new exploratory journey, which takes an additional developer focus, one of the time-wasters that have led to this prolonged outcome.

We don’t have an exact roadmap with the dates, at least publically. We do have our own roadmap, but it’s secret information. Right now we are working on Streets of Tarkov, Arena, and a really big amount of technical stuff related to optimization and networking, and it’s also related to Streets of Tarkov and the future storyline quests. Anything related to this is what we’re mostly focused on. The Arena is being worked on by a different team, so it’s a separate process. Other than that, we’re not doing anything new or groundbreaking, right now we’re focused on really big and complicated tasks.

With each Streets of Tarkov teaser so far, Battlestate Games actually revealed how much they’ve covered on the new map. Not only the early videos but also the recent images provide proof of how far the development has gone. While its release period is still unknown, based on the interview and recent teasers, it definitely feels like it’s queued to arrive with the next wipe.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
