Pokemon Go Festival of Light 2022 Event Details

What an illuminating time to be living in, and this will be especially felt by the Pokemon Go community on October 14th, 2022.

But what will be happening on October 14th, 2022?

We are more than happy to report that Trainers will be getting familiar with not one, but two new Pokemon whose names are Morelull and Shiinotic, otherwise known as the Illuminating Pokemon. As part of the Festival of Lights 2022 which will begin on October 14, 2022, and end on October 17th, 2022, Trainers will have the chance to catch Morelull, and with 50 Morelull Candy, they can evolve Morelull into its evolution named Shiinotic.

During the duration of the Festival of Lights 2022 event, the bonuses that will be active are the following:

  • Increased chance of encountering Shiny Chinchou
  • 2x XP for catching Pokemon
  • 2x Candy for catching Pokemon
  • Incense duration increased to two hours (only during the Festival of Lights 2022 event)

The Festival of Lights 2022 event will be having a catch-focused Timed Research, for which we expect to focus on a lot of Pokemon with illuminating power. As a reward for completing the Timed Research, Trainers will get the Sparkler Pose.

As wild encounters during the Festival of Lights 2022, the Pokemon that will be appearing more in the wild are:

  • Pikachu
  • Vulpix
  • Magnemite
  • Chinchou
  • Litwick
  • Litleo
  • Helioptile
  • Dedenne
  • Morelull
  • Galarian Ponyta
  • Togedemaru

If you decide to use Incense to attract every Pokemon-ic creature, the following Pokemon will be even more attracted to the strange smell during the Festival of Lights 2022 event:

  • Alolan Geodude
  • Blitzle
  • Darumaka
  • Litwick
  • Dedenne
  • Morelull
  • Galarian Ponyta
  • Galarian Darumaka

Raids weren’t left out too, so Niantic has “released” a full Raid schedule that will take place during the Festival of Lights 2022 event, and for the One-Star Raids, the Pokemon that will be featured as Raid Bosses are:

  • Galarian Ponyta
  • Darumaka
  • Dedenne
  • Morelull

The Pokemon that will be featured as Raid Bosses in Three-Star Raids are:

  • Alolan Raichu
  • Galarian Weezing
  • Mawile
  • Hisuian Braviary

And the most important of them all, the Five-Star Raids. The Pokemon that will be featured as a Five-Star Raid Boss is the following

  • Xerneas

Last but not least, the Mega Raid Boss that Trainers will be challenging during the Festival of Lights 2022 event is Mega Manectric.

The last “feature” that the Festival of Lights 2022 event will bring is special Field Research task encounters. The Pokemon that will be featured as encounters during the Festival of Lights 2022 event are the following:

  • Galarian Ponyta
  • Electabuzz
  • Magmar
  • Chinchou
  • Blitzle
  • Dedenne
  • Morelull

And that is all dear Trainers for the Festival of Lights 2022 event, and from what we can see, the nights are about to get a whole lot lighter than usual.
