Trainers, the Festival of Lights 2022 is underway, and a new two-step TImed Research is now available for everyone.
The new Festival of Lights 2022 event is a four-day event featuring new Pokemon, different shiny Pokemon, different Raid Bosses, useful bonuses, new Field Research tasks, and a new two-stage Timed Research quest. The Timed Research focuses on catching Pokemon and completing the research will grant you the Sparkler Pose.

Step 1/2
- Catch 25 Pokemon: 25 Poke Ball
- Hatch 2 Eggs: Morelull
- Make 15 Nice Throws: 20 Great Ball
- Make 10 Great Throws: 10 Ultra Ball
- Make 5 Curveball Throws: 10 Pinap Berry
- Use 10 Berries to help catch Pokemon: Dedenne
- Rewards: Galarian Ponyta, and 2500 XP
Step 2/2
- Catch 25 Pokemon: 25 Poke Ball
- Walk 5 km: 3 Golden Razz Berry
- Evolve 3 Pokemon: Chinchou
- Make 10 Great Throws: 20 Great Ball
- Spin 25 PokeStops or Gyms: 3 Silver Pinap Berry
- Take snapshots of 10 different wild Pokemon: Litwick
- Rewards: Sparkler Avatar Pose and 2500 XP
