Dratini Community Day Classic Research Storyline

Hey, %PLAYERNAME%, great timing! Fancy doing a little investigation?

All these Ultra Wormholes we’ve encountered lately have got me thinking. Ultra Space is fascinating, sure, but there are places closer to home that still beg to be explored – like the fabled island of Dragonite!

Imagine the unique ecosystem that island would have! It’d be a veritable treasure trove for scientific inquiry.

Questions are already rattling around in my head: what do Dragonite use their horns for? How quickly can they move in water? What kind of Berries do they…

Whoops. I’m getting ahead of myself. First, we need to do some baseline research on the Pokémon in question.

Whoa! Look at how many Dratini you’ve caught, %PLAYERNAME%!

Did you know that in the past, Dratini was so rarely glimpsed that some called it the “Mirage Pokémon”?

And yet here you are with a whole host of them. They seem real enough to me!

That would suggest that Dratini and its Evolutions like to live in groups.

And if that’s true…then the island of Dragonite could be real after all! First, though, we should learn more about Dratini’s Evolution, Dragonair

Dragonair’s mystical appearance always leaves me in awe. In fact, this Pokémon is known for its gentle aura.

Some even call it divine! And for good reason – see the crystalline globes on its head and tail? Dragonair can use them to freely control the weather.

I bet that’d come in useful if you had, say, an island full of Dragonite that you wanted to keep hidden. Or if you were constantly forgetting your research notes outside on rainy days…

But that’s a me problem. Next, let’s help Dragonair evolve into the star of today’s studies – Dragonite!

Just like Dratini and Dragonair, Dragonite is an extremely rarely seen Pokémon. How lucky we are that we can study one today!

Dragonite is known as “the sea incarnate.” Incur the wrath of this normally calm Pokémon at your peril, because it will smash everything to smithereens before it’s satisfied.

Luckily for us, it’s typically a kindhearted Pokémon. If it spots a drowning person or Pokémon, Dragonite simply must help them – like that shipwrecked man I mentioned earlier today.

Why don’t we set sail and get looking for that island? Dragonite’ll surely bail us out if things go sideways!

I’m joking, I’m joking. Thanks for humoring me today, %PLAYERNAME%.

Even without weighing anchor, we learned more about Pokémon and found new ways to look at facts we already knew. I’d say that’s time well spent.

Though to be fair, I’d say that about any time we spend together. Heh. I’ll be in touch again soon, %PLAYERNAME%!

Dratini Community Day Classic starts on November 5, 2022, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time.
