Gran Turismo series sell well over 90 million units worldwide

PlayStation and Gran Turismo are practically inseparable – a relationship that has blossomed since the console’s inception. After many years of growth in their respective fields, Sony has created many first-party gems to complement Polyphony Digital’s adored series. It repeatedly proves why it remains one of PlayStation’s most successful franchises.

To mark a quarter-century since the original Gran Turismo was released in Japan, Sony and Polyphony Digital have revealed that this popular racing game has notched up an impressive 90 million sales worldwide, as it continues to be PlayStation’s top seller. But who will take its crown next?

Gran Turismo 7 took the gaming world by storm when it was released on both PlayStation 4 and 5. While precise sales numbers for this edition remain a mystery, this latest installment of Gran Turismo has certainly seen its fair share of success! Kazunori Yamauchi from Polyphony Digital recently announced that his team is exploring taking the game to PC platforms – an exciting prospect for avid gamers everywhere.
