Path of Exile: The Forbidden Sanctum Launches Next Week, Trailer, Details and more

New Items, Weapons, Skills and other items.

Grinding Gear Games pulled back the curtains on their hotly-anticipated expansion, The Forbidden Sanctum, giving Path of Exile fans an exciting peek at what awaits them this December. Get ready to delve into a mysterious ancient sanctum of challenges and riches!

Battle against evil forces lurking in each room as you bravely forge your way through it all – while collecting weapons, items, and more rewards. If you’re an up-for-the-challenge melee enthusiast, look no further than The Forbidden Sanctum! This expansion adds two new skill gems to boost your character: Volcanic Fissure and Frozen Legion. But that’s not all – there are also heaps of Vaal Gems that will add extra flavor to existing skills.

Embark on a perilous journey down the dank and ominous depths of the Forbidden Sanctum, traversing four floors full of perils. Face off against formidable bosses, or be taken by surprise in “afflicted” rooms which can cause powerful afflictions for your character to overcome. As you delve deeper into unknown dangers, affliction will threaten to overwhelm – only mitigated with strategic boons along these treacherous paths!

Grinding Gear has crafted The Forbidden Sanctum to be filled with roguelike elements for an exciting level of unpredictability. With every run through the sanctum comes new challenges and encounters – including environmental hazards that can test your character’s resolve! If you’re lucky enough to stumble upon a fountain in the depths, know this: some fountains have been cursed with afflictions; proceed cautiously, as these may bring more grief than relief.

Ruthless Mode presents even greater difficulty for those wanting the ultimate test in Path of Exile. Still, it can lead to unprecedented rewards for determined adventurers willing to take on the riskier fights. On December 9, PC users will get their hands on Path of Exile: The Forbidden Sanctum. Those playing on PlayStation and Xbox will have to join the fun five days later, December 14.
