Pokemon Go A Beginner’s Guide to Catching and Battling

When you are a beginner in Pokemon Go, it can be quite confusing about what to do, how to catch Pokemon, and how to even engage in a battle. We are here to help you dear beginners how to navigate the Pokemon Go life better.
Let’s start with the basics: catching Pokemon. These creatures appear on the map screen out of nowhere, so when one appears, your phone will vibrate informing you that a Pokemon is near you. If you want to catch the Pokemon, click on it.
Here comes the tricky part: catching a Pokemon. You will have a variety of PokeBalls, so choose whichever you want to use to catch a Pokemon. There will be a ring around the Pokemon, and it can be in three colors: green, orange or red. Each one of these indicates the difficulty level of catching the Pokemon. The smaller the diameter of the circle, the greater chance you have of catching the Pokemon. Then, throw the PokeBall and hope that the Pokemon will stay in its ball and not break free.
Now that you have a Pokemon, the next thing to do is join a battle. First off, there are several types of battles in Pokemon Go, Raid battles, Gym battles and PvP battles. Each of these has its difficulty level, the hardest one of them being the Raid battle.
PvP battles need three Pokemon, while Raid and Gym battles require six Pokemon. If you want to join a local battle (a Gym or Raid battle), click on the Nearby menu. There you will see which battles are available in your area, and which ones you can join. However, if you want to go against another player, click on the Battle button in the Nearby menu, and click on “Challenge a Trainer”. You can scan a QR code of the player you will be playing against (if that is available).
The best tactic is to use your Protect Shields. These will protect you from any incoming damage for one turn, and this can result in a victory. There are also the GO Battle Leagues (Great, Ultra and Master League). Plan your battle time wisely.
