Pokemon is a crucial part of every childhood, and when it first appeared back in 1996, it quickly became the number-one franchise in the world.
Pokemon is managed by The Pokemon Company, and under that name, there are several games, cards, movies, and many more that carry the Pokemon name.
We will be talking about the games that carry the Pokemon name, and most importantly, how many units were sold. The numbers that are going to be included here are calculated until December 31st, 2022.
The first game on this list is Pokemon Sword & Pokemon Shield. Pokemon Sword & Pokemon Shield first debuted back in 2019, and since then, until December 2022, 25.68 million games were sold.
Pokemon Scarlet & Pokemon Violet was released in 2022, and there have been 20.61 million games sold until December 2022.
The third games we will be mentioning are Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! & Let’s Go, Eevee! which was released in 2018. Since then, 15.07 million copies were sold.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus debuted in 2022, and this game has managed to sell 14.63 million copies in just one year.
Pokemon X & Pokemon Y first came out in 2013, and in all these ten years, the game has sold 16.65 million copies.
Pokemon Sun & Pokemon Moon launched in 2016, and until December 2022, sold 16.29 million copies.
The last Pokemon titles are Pokemon Omega Ruby & Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. The two titles were released in 2014, and they were great titles, but compared to the other titles, they sold only 14.53 million copies. It is still a big number, but compared to the other ones, it is the lowest number out of them all.
These are the titles we decided to include, and even though not every title has high selling numbers, we think every one of them is special in its own way.
