Hogwarts Legacy Surpasses Elden Ring’s UK Physical Launch Sales by 80%

Hogwarts Legacy has experienced a magical beginning in the UK. Its launch was surrounded by controversy, but yet this mesmerizing game captured hearts and minds becoming the top-selling last week. The data from Gfk (via GamesIndustry) revealed it had an outstanding debut – proving its popularity as a captivating experience for Harry Potter fans everywhere.

Hogwarts Legacy has had an incredibly successful debut in retail stores. Compared to last year’s Elden Ring launch, its physical sales have soared beyond expectations by a whopping 80%. This marks the biggest-ever Harry Potter game launch, beating 2001’s beloved Philosopher’s Stone edition with 64% higher initial sales. Plus, just within its first week of release, it reached record-breaking heights no one could’ve imagined – smashing even its highest goal by more than double.

Hogwarts Legacy is a smash hit, and the numbers prove it. Not only did 82% of purchases come through on PS5 alone – but digital sales haven’t even been included in those figures. It looks like this game isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, either. With upcoming releases for both last-gen consoles plus Nintendo Switch planned, there’s plenty to look forward to as Hogwarts Legacy continues ruling over gaming charts all year long.
