Sony is expecting a tremendous surge in PS5 sales in Q3

The PlayStation 5 is incredibly popular, with 32.1 million units shipped since its launch. But now even more gamers are set to join the party – Sony expects 18.5 million sales in their fiscal year thanks to a new model of PS5. Tom Henderson at Insider Gaming recently reported that this quarter could be even bigger than predicted; it’s certainly an exciting time for PlayStation fans everywhere!

Sony is expecting big things from the upcoming PlayStation 5 model. According to internal forecasts, August 2023 will be the lowest month for production at 1.5 million units sold, while November looks like it will be a blockbuster, with 4.8 million units predicted in that time frame.

Sony’s looking to kick off production for a brand new PlayStation 5 model this April, and if all goes according to plan, the console could hit store shelves as early as September. Throughout 2023-2024 they’re anticipating 30.5 million in total sales – nearly double what their current PS5 is expected to sell before retiring from circulation. With its detachable disc drive feature, Sony reportedly aims to move 10.5 million units by year-end.
