After Us is a Surreal Platforming Adventure Set to Release on May 23

Piccolo Studio, the developer behind the game Arise: A Simple Story, has announced that its surreal platforming adventure title, After Us, will be released on May 23. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, offering players a chance to experience a unique and captivating world where all life has been wiped out.

Set in a distant future, After Us takes players on a journey as Gaia, the Spirit of Life, through a bizarre and mesmerizing world filled with floating everyday objects and a hazardous oil contaminating the land. The game promises a blend of combat, platforming, puzzles, and traversal challenges across ten different biomes, each featuring abstract art design, high-speed platforming, a dynamic camera system, and environmental storytelling.

In After Us, players will work to save the souls of extinct animals, including the last whale, harpooned, the final eagle caged, and the previous deer hunted down. The game presents a sad look at a world devastated by human impact, exploring themes of extinction, progress, love, and hope. Along the way, Gaia will face dangerous, oil-covered Devourers that roam the wasteland, seeking to extinguish any remaining life.

The game’s release date was revealed in a PlayStation Blog post by Alexis Corominas, Piccolo Studio’s general manager. The post also included a gameplay trailer, showing players what to expect from this emotional and visually stunning journey.

Mark your calendars for May 23, and get ready to immerse yourself in the surreal world of After Us as you strive to restore life to Earth and embark on a touching story about sacrifice and hope.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
