Elden Ring Ray Tracing Minimum and Recommended PC System Requirements Revealed

FromSoftware‘s immensely popular open-world action RPG, Elden Ring, has received a significant update that now includes support for ray-traced ambient occlusion and shadows. Following an initial evaluation by modder Lance Macdonald, there were concerns about the performance impact of ray tracing on the game, especially when using a GeForce 2070 Super. Additionally, Macdonald pointed out the lack of DLSS 3 support, which is crucial for mitigating performance drops.

However, Patch 1.09 has been released, clarifying the minimum and recommended system requirements for enabling ray tracing on PC. To run Low Ray Tracing at Low quality and 1080p resolution, players will need a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (8 GB) or Radeon RX 6700 XT (12 GB) graphics card, 16 GB of RAM, an Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT CPU, and Windows 10.

For those who want to enjoy High Ray Tracing at High quality and 1080p resolution, the recommended requirements include Windows 11, a Core i7-10700K or Ryzen 7 3800XT CPU, 16 GB RAM, and a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti (8 GB) or Radeon RX 6900 XT (16 GB) GPU.

Although the requirements have been released, it is still unclear how well-optimized performance will be, even on systems meeting the recommended specifications. Elden Ring is currently available on Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Fans of the game are encouraged to stay tuned for more information as it becomes available. In the meantime, the table below summarizes the minimum and recommended system requirements for Elden Ring’s ray tracing update on PC:
