The gooey pinkish-purple creature in Pokemon Go is an actual celebrity. We know you know which Pokemon we are talking about just by reading those few words. Ditto. Did you guess right? Well, Ditto can now take the form of different Pokemon in the wild, so you might want to see what are the new Ditto disguises.
What we mean by saying Ditto is a true celebrity, is the fact that Ditto is nowhere to be found, even if we know where (in which Pokemon) he is in our Pokemon Go world. Ditto makes it very difficult to spot him in Pokemon Go, especially with its unique power of transformation. Yes, this Pokemon can fully transform into a different Pokemon, and it can even copy its moveset.
Now that we have mentioned it, Ditto’s ability is Transformation. Hence the second name of Ditto, the Transform Pokemon. Ditto can copy everything from its opposing Pokemon, including looks, moveset, CP, HP, and everything else. Due to this, Niantic has made things more interesting by implementing a list of Ditto’s possible disguises, so that we do not wander in the Pokemon Go world and search every nook and cranny on the map.
Please note the new Ditto disguises will be in effect starting from March 21, 2023.

- Grimer (can be shiny)
- Snubbull (can be shiny)
- Corphish (can be shiny)
- Starly (can be shiny)
- Roggenrola (can be shiny)
- Tympol (can be shiny)
- Litleo (can be shiny)
If any Pokemon from the list happens to have an available Shiny form in Pokemon Go, and you happen to encounter it, then you will not get a Ditto after catching the Pokemon. Ditto will not take the Shiny form of another Pokemon, however, a non-Shiny Pokemon from the list above can transform into a Shiny Ditto.
Now, you already know that Ditto is very, very hard to encounter in the wild. Even if you sometimes have a guaranteed encounter, you should leave some space for doubt, because Ditto’s chances of encountering in the wild in March 2023 are roughly 3%. When imagining what the word “rare” might look like, we imagine Ditto, because the Transform Pokemon is very hard to find.
As for shiny Ditto, we have some very good news. Shiny Ditto is permaboosted, and the chances of getting Shiny Ditto are 1/64.
