Sony Apparently Intends To Release The PS6 Sometime After 2027

PlayStation has been a statement console in the gaming world, and every child has had a PS console at least once in their life. Now, we have reached the time when we can start talking about the next PlayStation console, which is PlayStation 6.

There have been some “problems”, if you can call them that, in the gaming world. This is due to the recent wish of Microsoft to acquire Activision, the company behind Call of Duty. Now, as you know, Call of Duty is majorly involved in everyone’s life in some way. In that sense, it has been one of the more important franchises available on the PlayStation network.

Because of that merger (Microsoft and Activision), some companies had to make some documents public, like Sony. In the official documents that were published by Sony, there are some talks that we might see PlayStation 6 around 2027 or after. This sparked interest after it was revealed that Microsoft would be “making Activision’s games available on PlayStation only until 2027”.

Ending Call of Duty and other Activision games on PlayStation would be a critical move, especially if Sony decided to really release PlayStation 6 in 2027 or around it. As one document says the following:

“By the time SIE launched the next generation of its PlayStation console (which is likely to occur around (hidden), it would have lost access to Call of Duty and other Activision titles, making it extremely vulnerable to consumer switching and subsequent degradation in its competitiveness.”

We understand by this that the next PlayStation console will not have access to major titles when it releases, which will most likely be in 2027 or after it. It would be your best move to stick to your current PlayStation console, rather than buy a new one.

Do you really expect PlayStation 6 to come out in 2027? What are your thoughts on this?
