Daedalic Entertainment and NACON have revealed the release date for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. The action-adventure game will be available for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on May 25th, while a Nintendo Switch version is set to launch later in the year. Based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s classic trilogy, the game invites players to step into the world of Middle-earth and experience the gripping tale of one of its most enigmatic characters – Sméagol, also known as Gollum.

Fans of the iconic lore can get a sneak peek at the gameplay and hear insights from the developers during a special showcase at 5.30 pm GMT / 6.30 pm CET on Twitch today. The event will first look at the game’s stunning graphics and innovative gameplay mechanics inspired by Tolkien’s rich universe.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a story-driven action-adventure game that follows Gollum on his treacherous quest to retrieve the one thing he holds dear – the Precious. Players must utilize Gollum’s unique skills to climb, leap, and sneak past dangers, all while making critical decisions that will determine his fate. Will you embrace the darkness within Gollum or follow the gentler path of Sméagol? The choice is in your hands.

Developed by a dedicated team of Tolkien enthusiasts at Daedalic Entertainment in collaboration with Middle-earth Enterprises, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is co-published by Daedalic Entertainment and NACON. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation4, PlayStation5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Console players can also look forward to a physical edition of the game.
