Asus ROG Ally Steam Deck’s Competition

Asus introduced their Asus ROG Ally on April 1, 2023, and everyone thought this is an April Fools’ joke. Well, the handheld PC is real,

ROG Ally is Rog’s first gaming handheld, portable device with Windows 11, an alternative to Steam Deck, but it’s much more powerful.

The ROG Ally is smaller and thinner than the Steam Deck, 7inches screen size, 1920 x 1080, and up to 120 Hz – 5ms.

  • Custom Asus OS is still being worked on (can link steam, Epic, Origin, and XBOX Gamepass to the OS and it will be able to sync achievements and screenshots, etc)
  • October release date, Microsoft to help promote gamepass on this device
  • Asus employees are aware of the Sony handheld secretly being worked on (no info besides that) which is why they approached Microsoft months ago due to more competition coming soon besides valve
  • Supports eGPU
  • Supports VR
