Focus Entertainment Acquires Dovetail Games to Strengthen Its Simulation Gaming Lineup
Focus Entertainment has announced the acquisition of Railsimulator.com, the parent company of the Dovetail Games Group, a leading UK-based developer and publisher of simulation games. The acquisition aims to leverage Dovetail’s expertise in IP development to expand Focus Entertainment’s presence in the simulation gaming market.
Dovetail Games is known for its train sim games, including popular franchises such as Train Simulator Classic and Train Sim World. These franchises have garnered a loyal following of millions of players worldwide. The company’s robust business model, which includes full game releases and a strong live service content strategy, has generated recurring revenue through an extensive library of over 900 pieces of DLC.

In addition to simulation games, Dovetail has recently ventured into the digital board game space with the release of CATAN: Console Edition. The company is committed to delivering original and authentic board game experiences to video gamers globally and is expected to record revenues of over £15 million for the year ending March 31, 2023.
