Media Molecule Announces End of Live Support for Dreams

Media Molecule has officially announced the discontinuation of live support for their game, Dreams, after September 1, 2023, as the studio shifts its focus to an exciting new project. Players can still play, create, and share Dreams with others, but there will be no more updates or events like DreamsCom, All Hallows’ Dreams, or the Impy Awards. The company is grateful for the continuous support and contributions from the Dreams community since its launch.

Before live support ends, the company plans to release a few more updates, including the much-anticipated Tren and significant improvements to animation and Create mode.

Dreams will undergo a server migration in late May, which the team has been working on to ensure the security and stability of the platform. The migration will affect some features, and Media Molecule aims to be as transparent as possible regarding these changes.

Some fundamental changes include new storage limits, the removal of archiving as a feature, simplification of release screens, improved clarity for versions, removal of prize bubbles, discontinuation of CoMmunity Jams, modifications to Creative Imp Quests, and changes to trophies.

Other notable changes include the temporary removal of the audio importer (expected to be restored before October 2023), the removal of Twitch integration, changes to Home spaces, and modifications to indreams.me.

Media Molecule will continue to work on innovative and playful experiences for players worldwide. They are not currently working on Dreams 2 or any Dreams IP, but the studio is excited about their new project, which will be revealed in the future. Dreams will still be available for purchase after September 2023, and the company will continue to support the game on social media.
