Nintendo Set to Make a Comeback at Gamescom 2023

With E3 2023 cancelled, Gamescom 2023 becomes the center stage for gaming announcements and showcases.

Nintendo has confirmed its attendance at Gamescom 2023, the leading gaming event in Europe scheduled to take place from August 23 to 27. This news is a surprise, as the gaming giant opted out of last year’s event. With E3 2023 canceled, the focus now shifts to individual publisher showcases and events like Gamescom.

Gamescom 2023 is expected to see a robust lineup of exhibitors, though a full list is yet to be revealed. Last year’s event saw major players in attendance, leading to expectations that they will return this year. The status of PlayStation’s participation remains uncertain, particularly given the rumors of a PlayStation Showcase event in May.

One of the most anticipated aspects of Gamescom 2023 is the Opening Night Live, scheduled for August 22. Last year’s showcase ran for two hours and featured over 30 games, and this year’s event is expected to include several World Premieres. With Nintendo now confirmed as an exhibitor, fans eagerly await the announcement of more participating companies in the coming weeks.

The official Gamescom Twitter account shared the news:

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
