Pokemon Go Shadow Gem Fragment New Items Added, Collect Shadow Gem Fragments to Turn any Pokemon into Shadow Pokemon?

Trainers, update 0.267.0 is live and rolling out on the Play Store.

Pokemon Go update 267 datamine reveals that Niantic and Pokemon Go are getting ready to launch new items into the game, the Shadow Gem and the Shadow Gem fragment. There is no info on what these Shadow Gems can do, but we have some things in mind.

As you already know Niantic and Pokemon Go are working on a new Raid project – the Shadow Raids. These Shadow Raids are not live in the game yet, but the text has been added in the GM file, which means they will launch these Raids sooner or later. Here is what we know about the Shadow Raids so far.

Shadow Raids will most likely be a pay-to-play feature. Shadow Raids will have five different Raids. As you progress, the level and the Shadow Pokemon will become stronger. These Raids will give extra XP, and you will be able to access it remotely.

Now, let’s start speculating about the upcoming Shadow Gem items.

Shadow Gem Fragment Speculation

• You need to collect 5 Shadow Gem fragments to make a Shadow Gem, just like the Mysterious Component and the Rocket Radar
• Shadow Gem fragments can be obtained when defeating and purifying Shadow Pokemon
• Or maybe we must collect Shadow Fragments to turn any Pokemon into Shadow Pokemon. Making/creating our own Shadow Pokemon will be great!
