Previous Story: The Raid category is about to be expanded with another type of Raid, and that is a Shadow Raid type.
Shadow Raids, judging by their name, will be hosting raids with Shadow Pokemon when they will arrive in Pokemon Go, and we hope that we will see some Shadow Legendary Beasts there and battle with them.
At this moment, there are some hints in Pokemon Go’s GM file, where each Shadow Raid will be ranked by difficulty level. At least that is what the text hints at. Each level has its own difficulty, and each level will have its own Shadow Pokemon. As you progress through the levels, the stronger Pokemon you will get. This is what the miners revealed, but we hope we will have more info in the future.
Another thing that is worth being mentioned: Shadow Raid tickets. This type of Shadow Raid seems to be accessible remotely, but the problem is that you might need to have a ticket. Something like pay-to-play Raids which we all despise. Shadow Raids only gain in worth if there are Shadow Legendary Pokemon, but are they worth spending money if we do not have an encounter with a Shadow Legendary Raid Boss?
Lastly, new Shadow Gem fragment items have been discovered in the GM file, so feel free to learn more here.
