Apex Legends Patch Notes for May 22

Apex Legends‘ latest patch has been rolled out by Respawn Entertainment today, May 22. Although this update has no new content, numerous bugs have been squashed to ensure a smoother gaming experience for the upcoming ‘Threat Level‘ event.

The ‘Threat Level‘ event is slated to begin tomorrow, May 23, and will run for two weeks, concluding on June 6. This event will feature new cosmetics and the return of the popular limited-time mode, Control, as voted by the community.

While we are waiting for the official patch notes from Respawn Entertainment, we have gathered details from the official Apex Legends trello board.

Bug Fixes

  • [Predator] Rank displays total LP incorrectly in lower ranks
  • [Firing Range] Joining a player in-progress will not bring recent changes made in lobby.
  • Cannot interact with ziplines during banner retrieval animation.
  • [Ballistic] When two Ballistics lock each other with Whistler, weapon and reticles disappear after one has unlocked themselves.
  • Challenge lists “Deal 50000 damage” instead of 5000 damage
  • [Catalyst] Scan Highlights and Diamonds visible through Dark Veil
  • Emote wheel not available during Champion screen.
  • [Ballistic] Swapping Sling Weapons with Loot Vending Machine doesn’t update weapon UI
  • [Wraith] In certain conditions, Wraith can shoot while downed.
  • [World’s Edge] The sun is too bright when looking at players above you.
  • [World’s Edge] Appears brighter than normal.

Investigating

  • Playing at 165+ FPS may cause stuttering during some gameplay scenarios.
  • Some players are receiving incorrect ranked rewards from previous season.
  • [Control] Players are occasionally unable to spawn on any captured zones, besides the Dropship zone
  • [Windows 7] With DirectX11, game crashes upon launch
  • Players can get stuck in certain replicators after crafting an item
  • While using DX12 and low detail model settings, scanning a ring console will crash the client.
  • [Switch] Some Switch accounts have not been corrected after a previous persistence issue was resolved.
