Bohemia Interactive Celebrates Arma Reforger’s First Anniversary with Significant Updates and Future Plans
Bohemia Interactive has recently celebrated the first anniversary of the Early Access release of Arma Reforger, marking the milestone with the 17th Dev Report, which unveiled numerous changes, fixes, and updates the team has been working on over the past year.
The developer, known for their immersive military simulation games, has begun its journey towards Arma 4 and has shown gratitude to its dedicated community for their unwavering support. Bohemia Interactive also released a video featuring insights from their CEO, Project Lead, and Creative Director, discussing their progress and plans for the franchise.
One of the most significant updates is the introduction of mines into the game. Both main factions now have their type of mine asset – the USSR utilizes the TM62 M, while the US employs the M15 AT. These mines are encased in metal and feature a pressure fuse. The mines’ primary purpose is anti-tank usage, although lighter vehicles can trigger them by driving over the fuse.
In server configurations, Bohemia Interactive has announced plans to raise player limits for community servers, allowing up to 128 players. Official servers will maintain their current player limits due to performance constraints, but this increase should allow community servers to create more diverse and immersive gameplay experiences.
The developer has set its sights on overhauling many of its systems to eliminate recurring bugs and improve extensibility. This includes the Respawn feature, set to receive a comprehensive overhaul, and the mod downloading system, which is being revamped to address numerous problems.
One of the most anticipated improvements is in the game’s economy gameplay. Bohemia Interactive is working on integrating supplies more effectively into the game to foster goal-oriented gameplay. Currently, supplies are used for building resources and deployment tickets in Conflict mode. Handling supplies is crucial as they can be transported by various vehicles and even a backpack. They will enable the resupply of other characters with ammo, medkits, and repair damaged vehicles.
In the spirit of Arma Reforger’s first anniversary, Bohemia Interactive also shared a video narrating how the artwork for the game came to life, featuring an interview with the photographer behind the piece, Stanislav Petera.
