Pokemon Go Battle Day Paid Research Leaves Trainers Frustrated, 100 Battles in the Go Battle League in 24 Hours is Too Much

Update May 27, 2923: Pokemon Go players who got the ticket for the Go Battle Stardust Timed Research will receive an extra Timed Research. Completing these Researches and using a Star Piece can get you a total of 70,000 Stardust.

Previous Story: Another event, another problem. There seem to be a lot of problems going on lately in Pokemon Go, and the latest one fueled the anger every Trainer has.

Pokemon Go: Battle Day left Trainers flabbergasted after they saw the featured Timed Research. In the past, all Researches in Pokemon Go that were available during events were free and even had some great rewards. The latest one is far from that.

Not only it did not have good rewards, it wasn’t free either. If Trainers wanted to get it, they needed to pay 99 cents. The Research in question is the one named Go Battle Day: Stardust Timed Research, from which Trainers will get 25,000 Stardust, three Rare Candies, and one Star Piece. Quite miserable if you ask me. Yes, there aren’t any Pokemon encounters.

Trainers are giving their opinion, and I have to say, I agree with all of them. This is something that nobody expected to happen, as Niantic always gave out great rewards. This paid Research conditions Trainers to complete 100 Go Battle League battles in only 24 hours. Oh, forgot to mention, this paid Research is expirable.

If something happened to the game, like lagging, or freezing, well, sorry to say but you are back at square one. Meaning that if you quit one battle, and do not get to finish it, well, you won’t be able to complete the paid Research as well.

  1. I quit one battle, ONE! Finally got to battle 99 and the game says I can’t play anymore today. I literally can’t believe how unfair that is my fricking eyes hurt from playing these battles so much today 🙁

    1. Same! I’m 1 shy of 100 and it won’t let me complete the challenge because I’ve hit the maximum number of battles allowed in a day. I’ve completed 99 battles in less than 24 hrs. I want my time and money back.

    2. I did one battle, then bought the pass. Did 99 more, but then reached the 100 limit and couldn’t get the final rewards…

  2. I played to play, not to win. Put my 3 (prepared for battle) weakest pm in and let myself be defeated as quickly as possible. It took me a total of less than 2 hours. Had them all. Starpiece. Double Stardust 50.0000. Nice.

  3. I’m struggling financially this week but still coughed up the money for a ticket. I didn’t even realize it was a Battle event until the event started, it wasn’t clearly marked in the title or description; I thought it was regular special research where you can earn stardust. Needless to say I was not happy with my purchase, I want my 99 cents plus tax back for that ticket.

  4. This event was such a joke! I feel like I was so ripped off!!!! I’m disabled and don’t have much energy. When I saw I had to battle 100 times, I knew instantly there was no way I could finish this one. I wish I could get my money and time back!!!!!

    1. Ditto! I adventure, catch, hatch and play. I really can’t do much battling and I am physically limited, so I have problems getting out much. I have really lost interest and have really slowed down playing and am now giving away a lot of my Shiney, legendary, or any other excess….thinning the herd. Anyway, you’re not alone….thanks for sharing. You guys made me fill better. Stay safe & have fun!!!

  5. I’m wondering if Niantic changed ceo or wtf is going on in that company. I know they are here to monetize but now they are trying to monetize on everything and making people miserable. I used to play with my wife and have fun going to different places and inviting people to raids too; there is not much fun anymore. I quit playing a while a go. I hope they fix these issues

  6. I hit the same barrier with no idea that there was a daily limit and/or that being booted or quiting a match mattered or counted towards the 100. I feel completely ripped off and adding to the increase in cost for remote passes, I am no longer giving this game a dime.

  8. I thought if you bought the ticket you would automatically get the stardust….and then you could win more rewards as you battle so I bought it for me and 3 friends what a bust…if you pay 99cents you get lots of shiny pokemon on community day I busted those battles all day and only did 70 I feel sorry for the one that did 99 and got turned away sorry peeps no fair for sure…

  9. Why is there a limit? It makes no sense.
I had done a couple of battles to complete a super effective research I had, and then I bought the research. No idea I had to battle 100 times, no mention of the limits, no popup saying hey since you already battled today, it is literally impossible for you to finish this. So dumb.

  10. Star piece is only 1.5 times stardust, so max you could get is 37,500 not 50,000. Just FYI.
