Pokemon Go Water Festival Beach Week Sandygast Debut

Trainers, Niantic and Pokemon Go announced the first

Starting June 6th, 2023, and ending June 12th, 2023, Trainers will be able to encounter two new Pokemon: Sandygast and Palossand. To make things even more exciting, Trainers will be getting a Global Challenge, for which the goal is 300 million Nice Throws. The Global Challenge Bonuses are:

  • Increased Candy for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws
  • Increased chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL for successfully catching Pokemon with Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws

During the whole week, the Pokemon that will be featured as wild encounters are:

  • Tentacool
  • Shellder
  • Krabby
  • Alolan Exeggutor
  • Horsea
  • Staryu
  • Marill
  • Wingull
  • Wailmer
  • Spheal
  • Finneon
  • Dwebble
  • Frillish
  • Clauncher
  • Mantine
  • Popplio

The Pokemon that will be featured as Field Research task encounters are:

  • Lapras wearing a scarf
  • Frillish
  • Binacle
  • Clauncher
  • Sandygast
  • Blastoise
  • Swampert

In honor of Water Festival: Beach Week, there will be a dedicated Spotlight Hour event, where Krabby, Kabuto, Corphish, Clauncher, and Crabrawler will be featured as Spotlight Hour Pokemon. Paired with that, there will be a 3x XP bonus for catching Pokemon during the whole day.

The Pokemon appearing in One-Star Raids are Alolan Diglett, Hisuian Qwilfish, Carvanha, Feebas, and Sandygast. In Three-Star Raids, the featured Pokemon as Raid Bosses are Blastoise, Gyarados, Lapras wearing a scarf, and Alomomola. In the Asia-Pacific Region, in Five-Star Raids will be Uxie; in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India will be Mesprit; in the Americas and Greenland, Azelf. In Mega Raids, the Pokemon that Trainers will be seeing is Mega Swampert.

Last but not least, there will be a paid Timed Research, that will be available to Trainers for $5.00. Keep in mind that this is a Timed Research that will expire on June 12th, 2023. The event bonus will be 4x Rainy Lure duration.
