Rumor: Mortal Kombat 1 to be Announced Soon

NetherRealm Studios, the esteemed creators of the renowned fighting game franchise Mortal Kombat, have been dropping intriguing hints about the next installment in the series. The latest reports suggest a departure from tradition with a reboot of the original game, allegedly named Mortal Kombat 1.

According to the well-known leaker, Billbil-Kun, Mortal Kombat 1 is expected to be officially announced in the next few weeks. This timing matches his previous claims of a May reveal.

Speculations have been rife that a PlayStation Showcase event is planned for the week of May 25. This could potentially be the platform for the much-anticipated announcement. However, this is yet to be confirmed by NetherRealm Studios or Sony.

In addition to the reboot’s title and potential announcement date, the rumored pricing structure for the game has also surfaced. The standard edition is expected to be priced at $69.99 for PS5 and Xbox Series S|X, and $59.99 for Nintendo Switch. A premium edition is also said to be in the works, priced at $109.99. For hardcore fans, a ‘Kollector’s’ edition is rumored, costing $249.99 for PS5 and Xbox Series S|X.
