Diablo 4 Introduces Hotfix 1 For 1.0.4, July 7 Update, Necromancer Class and Gameplay Tweaks

Blizzard rolled out a critical hotfix 1.0.4 on July 7, 2023, for their Diablo 4. The hotfix carries some critical updates, especially to the popular Necromancer class and a nerf to Blood Lance. Below you can find the changes in details.

HOTFIX 1 – JULY 7, 2023 – 1.0.4

Class Changes

Necromancer

Enhanced Blood Lance now pierces up to a maximum of 10 enemies.
Aspect of Hungry Blood now fires up to a maximum of 3 Blood Lances per cast.

Developer Note: This is indeed a nerf to Blood Lance, but Blood Lance has been so good for Necromancers that it has been crashing the game! This is a temporary solve while the team reworks the way the Legendary Aspect will function, and we expect this change sometime in Season 1 or shortly after.

Gameplay Changes

The first Whisper Cache you acquire will now always grant a Nightmare Sigil.

Bug Fixes

Further stability improvements.

In the meantime, Blizzard has temporarily disabled Uber Uniquest from dropping in the game while there’s an issue with Helltide chest drops. The fix for this is estimated to arrive on Friday afternoon PT, when the 6 Uber unique items will be available for drops again.
