Pokémon GO Players Level 48-50 Can Create Routes, Approval in Just 4-6 Hours
Trainers, put on your walking shoes and get ready for a new adventure in Pokémon GO. If you’re level 48 or above, you’ve just been given the power to create Routes. Confused? Excited? Read on, and we’ll break down everything you need to know.
A Route is like a treasure map in Pokémon GO. It’s a path you follow to find Pokémon and items, and if you complete it, you get rewards and a shiny badge! These paths can be made by anyone – Niantic, big-name partners, or even you!
How to Find a Route
Finding a Route is super easy:
- Tap on the ‘Nearby’ menu.
- Tap on the ‘Route’ tab.
- See all the Routes near you? Pick one and explore the details.
- Sort them out using the flag button. You’ll see the closest ones first.

Found a Route? Great! Here’s what to do next:
- Tap ‘Follow’ to start the adventure.
- Walk to the blue flag on the Map View to begin.
- Follow the path on the map. It’ll change color to show you’re on track.
- Some Routes are one-way, some go backward, some loop. Check the details to know.
- Pause or quit the Route if needed.
Done with the Route? Here’s Your Prize
Completed the Route? Nice going! You’ll get:
- A cool Route Badge with an image from the start or endpoint.
- Item rewards for completing the Route.
- A chance to rate the Route (give it stars!).
Didn’t finish the Route? You might’ve gone off track. Go back and follow the path until you’ve traveled the whole distance.
If you spot a Route that looks shady or breaks the rules, you can report it. Scroll to the bottom on the Route details screen and tap ‘Report Route.

I’m lvl 43 & have access to making routes. But I was very active with wayfarer. Had a route be okay’d after 10 min.

Hi, I’m level 48 – I have 2 routes under review, one since July 20th, the other July 30th. And other routes nearby have been approved, some really bad (including in a shopping center, in and out of stores).
Hoping my 2 routes won’t be forgotten!
