Pokémon GO Plugging Along Special Research storyline, all tasks and rewards
Grubbin Community Day is here and it marks the 69th Community Day so far, a remarkable milestone in the Pokémon GO journey. This event is filled with various activities and rewards for trainers. For starters, Grubbin will appear more frequently in the wild, so it’s the ideal time to add this Bug-type Pokémon to your collection or search for a Shiny variant. If you evolve Charjabug, Grubbin’s next evolutionary stage, near a Magnetic Lure during the event or up to five hours afterward, you’ll end up with a Vikavolt that knows the Fast Attack Volt Switch.
The event also amps up the rewards. You’ll earn triple XP and double Candy for each Pokémon caught. If you’ve reached level 31 or higher, your chances of receiving Candy XL will also be doubled. Both Incense and standard Lure Modules will have their durations extended to three hours when activated during the event.
Don’t forget to look out for Grubbin photo bombs when you’re snapping pictures of your Pokémon. Trading Pokémon will require 50% less Stardust, and you’ll be allowed one additional Special Trade, increasing the daily maximum to two. Timed Research tasks will be available, offering a Magnetic Lure among other rewards. Exclusive deals like the Ultra Community Day Box will also be available at a discounted rate in the Pokémon GO web store.
Once the main event wraps up, there will be special Charjabug four-star Raid Battles. Winning these raids will cause more Grubbin to spawn around that particular Gym for the next half-hour. Note that these Raids are only accessible through Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes; Remote Raid Passes are not eligible.

- Make 5 Nice Throws: 15 Poke Ball
- Catch 15 Grubbin: Grubbin
- Power up Pokémon 10 times: 20 Grubbin Candy
- Rewards: 3000 Stardust, Grubbin, and 1 Incense

- Transfer 10 Pokémon: 10 Razz Berry
- Catch 15 Grubbin: Grubbin
- Evolve 3 Grubbin: 30 Grubbin Candy
- Rewards: 4500 XP, Grubbin, and 1 Lucky Egg
Plugging Along Step 3
- Make 3 Great Curveball Throws: 15 Great Ball
- Catch 15 Grubbin: Grubbin
- Evolve 1 Charjabug: 50 Grubbin Candy
- Rewards: 4500 Stardust, Charjabug, and 1 Rocket Radar
Plugging Along Step 4
- Claim Reward: 15 Ultra Ball
- Claim Reward: Grubbin
- Claim Reward: 2 Silver Pinap Berry
- Rewards: 5000 XP, Vikavolt, and 3 Rare Candy
