Pokémon GO Shadow Gastly, Shadow Haunter, and Shadow Gengar assets added, a sneak peek into Halloween 2023 event

Alright, Trainers, brace yourselves because Halloween 2023 is practically knocking on our doors, and you know what that means, Niantic and Pokémon GO are cooking up something wickedly fun. This year, the Halloween extravaganza will be a two-parter, jam-packed with a whole slew of surprises, including new Pokémon debuts, exclusive bonuses, and even a Team Go Rocket takeover.
Halloween in Pokémon GO isn’t just a day, it’s a season. An eerie, delightful season that gets all of us Trainers fired up for the festivities. This year, the haunting celebration is a two-fold experience. Part 1 kicks off on October 19 and goes until October 26, 2023. Not to be outdone, Part 2 picks right back up on October 26 and runs through the witching hour of Halloween night itself, October 31.
So, what can you expect? Well, Niantic is keeping their cauldron of secrets well-stirred, but we’ve got some leaked intel that’s bound to send shivers down your spine. The Pokemod group has spotted some new assets in the game’s code, and it’s got new Shadow Pokémon written all over it.
Why should you care about the new Shadow Pokémon? Simple, they’re coming in hot for the Halloween Part 2 Team Go Rocket Takeover event. That’s right, Team Go Rocket is plotting yet another world domination plan, and they’re bringing along a fresh gang of shadowy critters. Get ready to face Shadow Barboach, Whiscash, Gastly, Haunter, Gengar, Drilbur, and Excadrill. If that doesn’t get your Poke-heart racing, we don’t know what will.
