Pokémon x Van Gogh collaboration ruined by scalpers, an unacceptable practice depriving true fans of exclusive Pikachu Card

In what was supposed to be an inspiring mashup between Pokémon and the iconic art of Van Gogh, a unique Pikachu trading card has become the hot target for resellers, tarnishing the collaboration’s intended purpose.
The event kicked off today with the goal of encouraging young fans to immerse themselves in Van Gogh’s artistic genius. But, alas, online footage has already surfaced showcasing a museum packed with resellers rather than budding art aficionados.
The special edition “Pikachu in Van Gogh Style” card, which portrays Pikachu in the manner of Van Gogh’s famed “Self-Portrait with Grey Felt Hat,” is popping up on auction sites like eBay.

This exclusive card was initially available for free as part of a delightful treasure hunt designed for kids. Participants could explore the art of Van Gogh and learn the stories behind his masterpieces, all while solving a quiz.
While the card is labeled “while supplies last,” the hope remains that once the card stocks deplete, scalpers will vacate, allowing families to savor the exhibit, which is set to run until January 7, 2024.
