Pokémon GO Niantic messes up again, Nihilego accidentally replaces Guzzlord in Raids

Whoa, talk about a plot twist. Niantic had us all set up for a Guzzlord takeover in Pokémon GO, but then, plot twist, Nihilego makes an unexpected entrance on the raid scene. If you’re in New Zealand or keeping an eye on updates from there, you’re probably just as baffled as we are.
This October, Guzzlord and its shiny variant were scheduled to be the stars of Pokémon GO’s Five-star Raids. But surprise, surprise, Nihilego is showing up instead. We’re fairly sure someone at Niantic must’ve pushed the wrong button or something because this is definitely not what was advertised. The folks down in New Zealand were among the first to notice the mix-up, and let’s just say, they’re not too shocked that Niantic goofed up again.
While this is likely a mistake, similar to past instances, we hope Niantic resolves the issue soon. We don’t want to miss out on Guzzlord and its shiny form, after all.
But since we’re on the subject, let’s take this opportunity to talk about the best counters for Guzzlord, just in case Niantic sets things right:
- Mega Gardevoir
- Mega Alakazam
- Mega Diancie
- Shadow Gardevoir
- Shadow Granbull
- Xerneas
- Gardevoir
- Togekiss
Guzzlord is set to take over Five-star Raids on October 6, 2023, at 10 AM local time. Guzzlord and Shiny Guzzlord will be available to battle and catch until October 20, 2023.
So, gear up and prepare for whichever Ultra Beast comes your way. May the odds be ever in your favor, Trainers. Let’s catch ’em all.
