Pokémon GO’s Detective Pikachu Returns event, Detective Pikachu plays hide and seek, confounding Trainers

When there’s a dedicated event for you, not showing up is not polite. At least show up for a little bit, and then go and do whatever you want. But that is not what Detective Pikachu did for its dedicated event, Detective Pikachu Returns.

An event from October 5 to October 9, 2023, saw players confused about where Detective Pikachu was. The event was supposed to have boosted spawns of Detective Pikachu, but the Pokémon was nowhere to be found. Instead, there were other Pokémon that were present in the event more than the spotlighted Pokémon, Detective Pikachu.

Some players say that Niantic should’ve made Slowpoke the main Pokémon with a dedicated event, and some say that they considered themselves lucky to have even found one Detective Pikachu during the Detective Pikachu Returns event. To crack some things up, some Trainers say that Detective Pikachu was busy doing detective work, so that is why this Pokémon was not present at the event dedicated to it.

All in all, while Trainers think that Niantic can overdo some stuff during events, this one was totally the opposite. To have a dedicated event for Detective Pikachu, and not seeing that Pokémon spawn on the map is really ambiguous.

What do you think about this? Did you see and catch Detective Pikachu during the Detective Pikachu Returns event? Tell us in the comments below.
