Pokémon GO is a Ghost Town after Halloween 2023, Is Niantic choosing to do less?

Trainers, what’s happening, or should I say, what’s NOT happening? Halloween 2023, the year’s most anticipated event, wrapped up, and now the Pokémon GO map is a barren wasteland. Seriously, it’s like everyone and their Pokémon packed up and left town. Where are all the spawns and PokéStops?
Now, we all had a blast during the Halloween event. The map was a playground of spooky joy, decked out with creepy scenery and plenty of Pokémon to catch. So what gives, Niantic? Did someone forget to hit the “restore spawns” button? It’s so deserted out there you’d be lucky to find even a single Pidgey.
It’s frustrating, right? Events like Halloween show us that Niantic can deliver an amazing, eye-catching experience when they want to. They clearly have the means to make the game engaging and visually stunning. Yet, it’s like they intentionally dial things back to zero the moment an event ends.
So, what’s the deal? Are we supposed to only enjoy Pokémon GO during special events? Or is this emptiness the new normal? Either way, it makes you question how much effort is really going into keeping the game enjoyable day-to-day.
Are you also finding the Pokémon GO world to be eerily empty after the Halloween festivities? We’d love to hear your thoughts. Drop your experience in the comments below.
