Pokémon GO Winter Holiday Part 1 details revealed, featuring debuts of Cetoddle and Cetitan

Walking into Winter Wonderland in style with Pokémon GO, the game that knows how to celebrate.

Starting December 18, 2023, and ending December 25, 2023, Trainers will have the chance to meet Cetoddle, the Terra Whale Pokémon, and its evolution named Cetitan. Besides these two debuts, another two Pokémon will be making their way into the game, Pikachu wearing holiday attire, and Raichu wearing holiday attire.

There will be a Timed Research named Winter Wishes, and it is free. Trainers can either get 2x XP for catching Pokémon or 2x Stardust for catching Pokémon through choosing a patch. Every Trainer that participates in the Timed Research will get items and encounter winter-themed Pokémon.

As always, there will be Pokémon that will be more present in the wild.

When it comes to Raids, Pikachu wearing holiday attire will be having a greater chance of being a Shiny Pokémon.

There will be special Pokémon hatching from 2km Eggs, and Eevee wearing a holiday hat hatching from Eggs will have a greater chance of becoming a Shiny Pokémon.

*Some tasks will be rewarding Mega Energy for Mega Abomasnow and Mega Glalie.

For free, Trainers who are also Amazon Prime members can get the Holiday Sweater with Scarf avatar item before it goes live in the in-game shop, and this offer is going to be available from December 15, until January 19, 2024.

If you thought that the whole event would be free, well, you are wrong. There will be two tickets for additional Timed Research and they are the following.

Pokémon GO Paid Timed Research tickets

  • Ticket 1: For 2$ Trainers can access event-exclusive two-part Timed Research, and they will be granted access to the Timed Research for both parts of the Winter Holiday Part 1. The rewards for Winter Holiday Part 1 are event-themed Pokémon encounters with special Pokémon, including a new costumed Pokémon and two Premium Battle Passes. As for the Winter Holiday Part 2, the rewards will be event-themed Pokémon encounters, as well as an encounter with a new costumed Pokémon, and two Premium Battle Passes.
  • Ticket 2: For 5$, Trainers will get access to event-exclusive Timed Research, and the rewards will be an event-themed avatar pose, 2x Candy for catching Pokémon, various event-themed Pokémon encounters, as well as an encounter with a new costumed Pokémon.

Last but not least, there will be Pokémon Showcases featuring event-themed Pokémon, so keep those Pokémon and enter them in Showcases to get rewards.
