Pokémon GO player reports wrongly changed terrain done by Niantic

Where there is land, there can be water. Or so, in the case of Pokémon GO.

One player over at Reddit has reported that something quite unusual is happening with their map in the game. They say that they have been working at a Marina, where there is water (obviously), and while working there, they have been getting a lot of Magikarps, because this Pokémon is a Water-type Pokémon, so it is nothing unusual to see it spawn near water.

Well, a year later, the player visited that place again, and lo and behold, there wasn’t any water on the map, even though in real life the Marina still exists, and there is water indeed. The only thing that has stayed the same is the stripes, which signify the docks of yachts.

The thing is, Niantic should stay accurate with their maps, even if there are minimal changes in terrain, roads and whatnot. It also seems that many other players have this problem, where their street suddenly disappears, and a new one appears in the wrong place. Or some say that the city center in their town is nowhere to be found.

Please Niantic, keep your maps up to date, and as accurate as they can be. We guess this is not that difficult to do, and it will avoid confusion among players.
