Pokémon GO Recap of Major Moments in 2023

We as human beings like to dig into the past and remember all the things we have been through. So do games, especially Pokémon GO.

A lot of things happened in 2023, and in 2024 we hope that a lot of good things will be happening. But all in all, there were some bad moments (really bad ones), and some good ones that we hold near and dear to our hearts.

Well, the Pokémon GO community has gone through ten big moments in the past year. Some I wouldn’t classify as good, but oh well, it is what it is.

Pokémon GO Major Moments in 2023

  • Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn – Global –  A two-day event where Trainers chose between Ruby or Sapphire badge
  • Primal Pokémon – The introduction of Primal Pokémon, specifically Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon
  • Out of the Shadows – Shadow Raids with Mewtwo as a Raid Boss (among other Shadow Pokémon)
  • A Paldean Adventure – The debut of the Paldean region
  • Master Ball – A new type of PokéBall came into the game, Master Ball
  • Routes Feature – Introduced through the Blaze New Trails event, Trainers can enjoy new areas
  • Pokémon GO World Champion – The first Pokémon World Championship began, and the first Pokémon GO World Champion was crowned
  • Debut of Greavard through the annual Halloween event
  • Party Play feature made its way into Pokémon GO
  • Five in-game Seasons
