Pokémon GO Taken Treasures details announced, new Shadow Pokémon debut

Fellow Trainers, we are all in for a treat this month, and the treat we are going to get are new, beautiful Shadow Pokémon.

Starting January 27, 2024, and ending February 1, 2024, Trainers will be able to participate in an event called Taken Treasures, where they will see the debuts of Varoom, the Single-Cyl Pokémon and Revavroom, the Multi-Cyl Pokémon. Besides that, Varoom can be hatched from 12km Eggs. If you want to evolve Varoom into Revavroom, you will need 50 Varoom Candy for that.

Taken Treasures Event Bonuses

  • You can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration

The next Shadow Pokémon that will require saving from Giovanni will be Shadow Kyogre, and the last part of the Seasonal Special Research story will become available right as the Taken Treasures event starts. By progressing through it, Trainers can get a Super Rocket Radar to hunt Giovanni.

On another note, Niantic casually dropped that Shadow Ho-Oh will be coming back into the game, and this time, the bird will be debuting in Shadow Raids, for the first time ever. Plus, some Trainers might encounter Shiny Shadow Ho-Oh. This Pokémon will be in Shadow Raids from January 27 to January 28, 2024.
