Pokémon GO Taken Treasures Event becoming the 9th Paid Ticketed event in January 2024

Slowly, but surely, Pokémon GO is turning into something that we don’t like.

In one month, January 2024, Trainers will be getting quite a handful of ticketed events, and the latest one announced, Taken Treasures, has officially become the ninth overall event in January 2024 that has some type of a ticketed part in it.

The Timed Research, available for $5, brings rewards that are already expected, so nothing out of the ordinary, unfortunately. Also, nothing special that would make me want to buy a ticket. Except for the Poké Ball Throw pose, but other than that, nope.

Trainers are utterly disappointed in Niantic, and it looks like Pokémon GO is becoming like those games where you have to throw some cash to continue playing. Some say that they are used to this, as it is becoming the “new” normal.

Others say that this is getting worse and worse as the Seasons go by, and ever since the remote raids nerf, it seems that every decision they make are far from user-friendly decisions.

What are your thoughts on this? Is Pokémon GO becoming a pay-and-play game?
