Pokemon Go Sizeable Surprises event details, Shiny Wimpod, Shiny Celesteela and Shiny Kartana debuts

Surprise, surprise, new Shiny Pokemon are coming our way, or should I say, Pokemon Go way.

Beginning April 4, 2024, and ending April 9, 2024, Trainers will have the chance to participate in the event called Sizeable Surprises. This event looks like is going to have its focus on sizes, so there are going to be many bonuses just for that. Plus, Shiny Pokemon debuts which indeed surprised me.

Sizeable Surprises, what are the bonuses?

Well, as I said, there are going to be a lot of bonuses focused on Pokemon sizes.

  • 2x XP for successfully catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better (not stackable with the Catch XP bonus for the April Community Day Classic)
  • Increased chance to encounter XXS and XXL Pokemon in the wild
  • Increased chance to encounter Shiny Wailmer

Sizeable Surprises wild encounters, Pokemon found in the wild

  • Diglett
  • Mantine
  • Wailmer
  • Joltik
  • Tynamo
  • Cutiefly
  • Wimpod (plus Shiny Wimpod debut)
  • Cetoddle
  • Onix
  • Snorlax

Raids are the most important in Pokemon Go, and it is our only chance of catching rare Pokemon, or Legendary Pokemon, while we are at it.

Sizeable Surprises Raid schedule, what Raid Bosses will be obtainable?

There are several Tiers in Pokemon Go when it comes to Raids, and depending on which one you choose to enter for a battle, the easier (or most difficult) Pokemon you will get.

One-Star Raids

  • Foongus
  • Klink
  • Espurr
  • Tadbulb

Three-Star Raids

  • Alolan Exeggutor
  • Galarian Weezing
  • Gyarados
  • Snorlax

Five-Star Raids

  • Kartana (plus Shiny Kartana debut) – Northern Hemisphere

Mega Raids

Sizeable Surprises Field Research task encounters, what Pokemon are going to be featured?

One favorite feature of all Trainers is the Field Research task. Now, for each event, Niantic and Pokemon Go release a set of event-themed Field Research tasks, and each of them has their own Pokemon as a reward. Of course, that Pokemon is somehow related to the ongoing event.

  • Onix
  • Snorlax
  • Wailmer
  • Tynamo
  • Cutiefly
  • Wimpod

Sizeable Surprises in Pokemon Go, what else is coming?

Besides all of these goodies above, Trainers will also have the chance to delve into event-themed Collection Challenges, where if they complete these Collection Challenges, Trainers will get Razz Berries, Pinap Berries, XP, and encounters with Wimpod.

Last but not least, there will be PokeStop Showcases at different PokeStops, and event-themed Pokemon will be eligible to enter.
