Pokémon GO older phones overheating after Biomes update

I mean, I get that older phones have some trouble functioning with the newest application, but are two year old phones really that old?

Pokémon GO went under series of changes a while ago, and while everything was looking promising, those changes brought back so many faults in the game that it is slowly becoming unplayable. That is some serious problems that are happening, and I think Niantic should focus solely on fixing them as soon as possible.

As I said, there are so many faults happening, and one of those things is overheating on older phones. Several players over on Reddit have been reporting that the game is draining the phone’s battery faster, it lags more, and it causes the phone’s temperature to skyrocket. They all agree that this started happening after the Biomes update, which was part of the Rediscover GO roster of changes. When a device with all sorts of hardware reaches a critical temperature, well, we all know what can happen, and it is not good.

The players that seem to be having the most problems are iPhone 15, Samsung Galaxy S22 series, as well as iPhone SE (2020). There seems to be issues with iPhone 15 Pro Max devices, and iPhone 8. While I do understand how the game could lag and cause overheat on the iPhone 8 devices, I don’t understand how could that happen on the latest iPhone devices.

I am fine over here, with my Samsung Galaxy S20+ device, going in strong, still.
