Atlas Fallen is getting a huge update in August, major overhaul and more…

Alright, listen up, guys. If you’ve been sleeping on Atlas Fallen or just kinda meh about it since it launched, get ready for some big news. Deck 13 and Focus Entertainment are about to drop a huge update called “Reign of Sand,” and it’s hitting us on August 6, FREE.

First off, we’re getting a whole new location, and new places to explore with new quests, which means more stuff to do, new enemies to beat up, and new weapons to play around with. Sounds like they’re trying to pack in as much content as possible.

But that’s not all. They’re adding a New Game Plus mode. So, if you’ve already plowed through the game, now you can go back and do it all over again, but with all your gear and upgrades. Sweet, right? And let’s talk about the revamped progression mechanics. Hopefully, this means the grind won’t feel so grindy anymore.

Those of you who like a real challenge, there’s a new difficulty mode called Nyaal’s Nightmare. I mean, the name alone sounds intense. Plus, they’re bringing in new voice acting, including Ben Starr, who played Clive in Final Fantasy 16. That’s a pretty nice touch.

According to the developer, this isn’t just some regular update, instead, it is a game-wide overhaul. Deck 13 is basically shaking up the whole game from top to bottom. They’re recommending that you start a new save to really get the full experience of all the changes, even though you can carry over your current progress if you want. That’s how big this update is.

Let’s take a little trip down memory lane. When Atlas Fallen launched last year, it kinda flopped. Focus Entertainment even admitted they were disappointed with the sales, and honestly, it makes sense. The game had some cool ideas, but it was bogged down by clunky movement, inconsistent combat, and a storyline that didn’t really hit the mark. We gave it a 6/10 in our review, saying it had potential but couldn’t quite pull it all together.

This Reign of Sand update might be just what the game needs. Deck 13 seems to be listening to feedback and making some serious changes. So, if you’ve been on the fence about giving Atlas Fallen another shot, August 6 might be the perfect time to jump back in.

After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
