Right now, Blizzard is working on an “unannounced project that utilizes a robust first-person engine,” stated by two job listings on their US careers site.
The listings want two lead software engineers, specifically preferring workers with experience on working on first-person games.
Overwatch is the only and first person game Blizzard has developed. It is not clear if the listing refers to an expansion or maybe a sequel to Overwatch, or maybe a new game altogether. Other series include World of Warcraft, StarCraft, Heroes of the Storm, and Hearthstone. Overwatch’s latest update is the introduction of Sombra, a new character that is capable of hacking other players abilities.
However, this is not the first time Blizzard advertises jobs for new projects. In the early parts of this year, the company wanted someone to lead the next Diablo project. In 2015, they were hiring an art director for an “unannounced project” in the Diablo game.
